Brussels Griffon - Affenpinscher - Puppies

About 14 years ago, I started doing research on the breed of dog I wanted to own. Little did I know, that I would be owned by them! I decided on the "Affenpinscher". However, I couldn’t find one. I finally located a breeder and she invited me to her home to meet her dogs. When I arrived I was intrigued by the "Affens" monkey face and mannerisms. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of a puppy walking on its hind legs. It was a "Brussels Griffon". I fell in love with his personality, not to mention the cutest face I had ever seen. SOLD!!! I took one of each. Over the years after living with these two breeds, I finally decided it was time to share some of the joy my dogs have brought to me, with others. Both of these breeds are originally from Belgium. Because of their quick speed they were bred to rid stables of rats. They are the most intelligent dogs I have ever encountered.

The "Affenpinscher" is known as the "monkey terrier" and the "Brussels Griffon" as the "monkey dog". The "Affenpinscher" was crossed with a Pug and Ruby English toy spaniel to create this unique breed of the Brussels Griffon. These two breeds are not for everyone. You must not be intimidated by a dog that has human like expressions or enjoys your company as much as your mate does. The "Griffs" don’t want to be on your lap, they want to be inside you. The "Affens" are content to have a few good romps a day and then sit and stare at you until you invite them to your side.
